Biography

J Wallace (b. Marietta, GA. 1985) is an artist working across photography, research, and visual representation. They are a dreamer and a storyteller whose queerness was born in the in-between landscapes of the US south, fueling their unrelenting search for desire, belonging and their practice of seeking out one another’s languages and stories.

They studied architecture at Georgia Institute of Technology (2003) studying with visual artist Damien Valero and received their MArch from University of Oregon (2011) and have shown their work internationally, including Eyedrum (Atlanta, GA),  Marion Meyer Contemporain (Paris, FR) and White Box (Portland, OR).  Since 2013 they have been practicing their art through conversation and gathering, working closely with the queer and trans community where they live, in Portland, OR.
